Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA) has selected ARRIS' (NASDAQ:ARRS) Touchstone TG2492 gateway for deployment across Liberty's footprint.
The TG2492 deployment is intended to deliver high-speed broadband and streaming video services to Liberty's customers throughout the world. The gateway is designed for connection speeds of up to 1 Gbps and features 802.11ac WiFi technology.
"Our customers are streaming more content to more devices than ever before and therefore require the best in wireless performance," said Doron Hacmon, chief product officer, Liberty Global.
Other features of the TG2492 include:
EuroDOCSIS 3.0 wireless EMTA featuring up to 24x8 channel bonding
Dual band concurrent 802.11n 2.4GHz and 802.11ac 5GHz radios
Up to two VoIP lines
Support for IPv6, business services, and WiFi hotspots
