Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Business is expanding its Twin Cities fiber network backbone to bring the company's business services to more customers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, including businesses along the Nicollet Mall. With the $3.1 million investment, nearly 700 additional local businesses have access to bandwidth capacity scalable to 10 Gbps.
The majority of the investment is happening at retail, commercial and industrial projects in the Twin Cities, though some suburban projects are underway as well. All told, the expanded network is expected to expand Comcast Business' reach to nearly 90,000 businesses passed across the Twin Cities metro area.
Available services include Ethernet Dedicated Internet, Ethernet Network Service, Ethernet Private Line, and Ethernet Virtual Private Line.
