Cogeco (TSX:CCA) Data Services and Peer 1 Hosting announced the official opening of a new 100,000-square-foot data center in Kirkland, on the island of Montréal. The facility is the 21st data center location. The new center offers consumption-based power billing and represents a commitment in the order of more than $100 million over time.
Located on the West Island of Montréal, the 100,000-square-foot center is intended for business services customers designing a data hosting, disaster recovery or business continuity solution. It's designed for a capacity of up to 16.5 megawatts, built to Tier 3 standards and backed by the company's wholly owned fiber network infrastructure. The facility offers 100% uptime guarantee, around the clock monitoring and video surveillance and is equipped with chillers, N+1 power, cooling and network redundancy, high-density cabinets and hot aisle containment.
