Fujitsu Adds to Ethernet Line

Fujitsu Network Communications is introducing the FLASHWAVE 5300 Ethernet Access and Aggregation Devices in an effort to offer a complete core-to-customer-premises Carrier Ethernet services platform. The line is intended for everything from Ethernet business services to mobile backhaul.

The MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 compliant platform is designed to allow initial configuration for Gigabit Ethernet networking and later upgrades to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GigE) by swapping the SFP interface with an SFP+.

The FLASHWAVE 5300 series, including the previously introduced FLASHWAVE 5310, is available in four configurations:

• The FLASHWAVE 5310 is a 1RU Ethernet access device with four GigE SFP ports built in and two module slots (with four GigE SFP port, eight T-1/E-1 circuit emulation or one OC-3/STM-1 channelized module options)
• The FLASHWAVE 5305 is a 1/2 x 1RU Ethernet access device with four GigE/10GigE SFP+ ports
• The FLASHWAVE 5321 is a 1RU Ethernet access and aggregation device with four GigE/10GigE SFP+ ports and 24 GigE SFP ports
• The FLASHWAVE 5322 is a 1RU Ethernet access and aggregation device with 12 GigE/10GigE SFP+ ports
