Evansville, IN-based fiber network operator Metronet is launching 1 Gbps Internet service in the 19 cities and rural communities that the company serves in central Indiana.

The new gigabit FTTP service is available now to residential customers in Connersville, Crawfordsville, Franklin, Greencastle, Huntington, Lafontaine, Lebanon, Madison, New Castle, North Manchester, North Vernon, Seymour, Vincennes, Wabash, Whiteland/New Whiteland, West Lafayette/Lafayette and Ulen.

Metronet is also quadrupling the Internet speeds in its triple-play bundles for residential customers without raising the price. For example, the company's Standard Fiber IPTV Triple Play bundle is being bumped up to 200 Mbps, plus HDTV and phone.
