WOW! Business is deploying Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) carrier Ethernet technology to upgrade and expand the Denver-based cable company's business services network in the Midwest and Southeastern areas of the United States.

Built on the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router and associated product family, the all-IP network is being deployed in 19 markets and has already enabled WOW! Business to deliver carrier-grade Ethernet services to businesses in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus and Evansville with more market rollouts planned.

The network is intended to enable WOW! Business to meet the growing need for business services and applications, including VPN, cloud and data center interconnect services, as well as cell tower backhaul.
