C Spire announced an agreement to deploy a 1 Gbps FTTH network in Jackson, MS, the state's capital. C Spire has similar agreements with nine other Mississippi cities, including Internet, digital HD TV, phone and home automation services. Jackson is the 10th and largest city to join the initiative.
The telco has begun online pre-registration, with a $10 refundable deposit, following Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Fiber's "fiberhood" model.
