Midcontinent Communications recently promoted Scott Smidt to vice president of business engineering and operations.
Midcontinent Communications recently promoted Scott Smidt to vice president of business engineering and operations. In his new role, Smidt will guide an expansion of Midcontinent's fiber-optic connectivity beyond national interests to a global scale, enhancing the digital capacity Midcontinent can offer to enterprise and wholesale businesses.

Smidt joined Midcontinent in 1980 and has been actively involved in a variety of capacities throughout the company and communications industry. His primary focus throughout his career has centered on management of technical innovation within the company's TV broadcasting, radio broadcasting and fiber-optic network holdings.
