Aiming for cable's business services market, GENBAND has introduced SMART OFFICE 2.0, a unified communications (UC) system intended to be delivered on multiple business devices via WebRTC-compliant web browsers. The end-to-end solution is designed for enterprise-wide collaboration and to make a user's phone number device independent. Users can dynamically access their communications from multiple devices and engage in chat, call, video conference or screen share from the location and device of their choice.

Part of GENBAND's Generation Enterprise platform, SMART OFFICE 2.0 can be delivered to business, government and university customers as a cloud-based offer from service providers or deployed in an enterprise data center. It's designed to be deployed in either a greenfield environment or in concert with traditional PBX hardware to marry smart devices and traditional office phones. The WebRTC real-time communication standard enables web browsers to manage real-time voice and video.
