SMC Debuts DOCSIS 3.0 WiFi Gateway

At CES in Las Vegas, SMC Networks announced the Veloxite D3G2408W, a 24x8 channel data gateway designed for downstream data rates of up to 990 Mbps.The new gateway is the latest addition to the SMC Veloxite family of DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems, EMTAs and wireless gateways. SMC launched the line in 2013. Eight of the Veloxite family solutions, including the D3G2408W, have received or are in the process of receiving CableLabs certification.The D3G2408W hosts a wireless daughter card for WiFi configurations including dual-band, dual concurrent 3x3 WiFi and 802.11ac technology. It's IPv6 enabled and supports IPTV and VoIP services, as well as TR-069 remote management.
