Cox Extends TVE to Android Devices

Cox Communications has extended its Contour TV Everywhere application to Android devices, specifically for Google's Nexus and Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2, Tab 3 and Note tablets.Introduced to iPad users in August, the Contour app connects customers to content by integrating personal recommendations into a new programming guide, which can be accessed at home or on the go with the app interface. It's intended to complement the set-top box Contour Guide on TV and the company's six-tuner DVR.Last quarter, Cox customer views of content online and on mobile devices more than doubled those seen in the prior year. In a recent study, Cox found that more than half of its customer households watch some streamed video on some type of smartphone or tablet device, with nearly 20% on an Android device.
