The SPiDR WebRTC Gateway provides an intelligent bridge between VoIP networks and the open ecosystem of the Internet. Sitting at the edge of the network, it interworks the signaling and media planes between the web and IP worlds and uses a RESTful API that converts REST signaling, used by web developers, to SIP. Thus, those not familiar with SIP can still bring applications to the table.
SPiDR provides media adaptation between WebRTC and broadband VoIP environments and implements a unified communications experience for web browsers. The created browser-based applications can be accessed by any Internet-connected device.Diamonds judges were excited by SPiDR's "openness and appeal to the web development masses" and anticipated that unexpected apps will pop up, among which will be a "a few gems" that make this "well worth pursuing."www.genband.comSee them at Cable-Tec Expo, Booth 410Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
