Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) has introduced an HDMI dongle designed to let users stream online video from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to the big screen HDTV in the living room. The $35 device, dubbed Chromecast, plugs into the HDTV's HDMI port and communicates with mobile devices via WiFi.The search giant says it works with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, and Google Play Music. More apps, such as Pandora, are in the pipeline. It's designed to work across iOS, Android, Chrome for Mac and Windows, and also to let the mobile device serve as a remote control.
