Transmode has announced the availability of its enhanced Ethernet Muxponders, intended to extend the company's Native Packet Optical 2.0 architecture and to provide operators with extended networking capabilities.The new EMXP IIe line is designed to coexist with Transmode's previous Ethernet Muxponders (EMXP II) and run the same software suite as the original units, as well as support MPLS-TP, IGMPv3 and MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 services.The EMXP IIe units add optional OTN transport to 10G ports providing optional standard and enhanced FEC. Increased switching capabilities are intended for business Ethernet services that demand a large number of services per device.
