ORLANDO, Fla.—Hitron showcased its new NOVA2200 10G xPON Hardened ONT/ONU platform during this week’s Fiber Connect 23 trade show. Designed to meet the growing demands of both business and residential customers, this product delivers symmetrical 10 Gbps speeds.
A vital element of the NOVA2200 is versatility. The product can be installed in an indoor and outdoor environment. Its rugged design ensures protection against challenging outdoor elements, making it a durable choice for various deployment scenarios. Set to accommodate dense urban areas to remote rural locations, the NOVA2200 was built to withstand dust, moisture, and temperature fluctuations, reducing maintenance costs and maximizing uptime for uninterrupted broadband services.
NOVA2200 also includes an optional PoE Adapter, so service providers gain flexibility in network deployment. Regardless of proximity to a power source, the NOVA2200 can be placed wherever needed, simplifying installation and eliminating additional power cabling. This feature enables cost-effective and efficient network setup, allowing for swift deployment in any environment.
Cable operators expanding the reach of business and wholesale Ethernet, IP-based voice and wireless backhaul services will also find utility in the NOVA2200. The product supports DOCSIS DPoE 2.0, enabling seamless integration with current provisioning, billing, and management systems.
DPoE specifications require EPON equipment to be provisioned using the same DOCSIS servers. The specification makes EPON Optical Line Terminals and Optical Network Units (ONUs) act like Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTSs) and cable modems.
The NOVA2200's key specifications include:
· IEEE 802.3av 10G-EPON compliant
· ITU-T G.987.2 XG-PON compliant
· ITU-T G.9807.1 XGS-PON compliant
· DOCSIS DPoE 2.0 compliant
· One 1/2.5/5/10GBASE-T Ethernet port
· Extensive operator control via configuration file and IEEE 802.3ah OAM
· PoE 10GBASE-T (Optional)
· A hardened case
"With the NOVA2200, we answer the need for speed in today's digital landscape,” said Greg Fisher, president, and Chief Technology Officer of Hitron Americas. “Its 10G xPON capabilities empower service providers to deliver unparalleled performance and reliability, catering to bandwidth-intensive applications.”
