CommScope RD1322 2x2 Remote PHY Device - 4 Diamonds

Sept. 29, 2020
CommScope’s RD1322 2x2 Remote PHY Device (RPD) – which is in trial with service providers today – supports the company’s installed base of NC4- and OM4-series fiber nodes. This extends the benefits of Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) to both traditional segmented and fiber-deep architectures. The RD1322 is the newest addition to CommScope’s outside-plant DAA solutions that enable operators to leverage their installed base of nodes to advance their plans for Extended Spectrum DOCSIS, Full Duplex DOCSIS, DAA, Remote PON, wireless backhaul, DOCSIS 3.1 and more.

Judge’s Comment: “Many operators have the need for additional capacity and with legacy DAA nodes would need to do costly physical node splits. With a 2x2 DAA node they can segment the node and avoid much of the cost and complexity related to node splits.”
