AT&T (NYSE:T) has begun rolling out its AT&T Fiber Internet service in parts of Springfield, IL. The fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service is now available in parts of 85 metro areas in the company's 21-state footprint.

Available speed tiers include AT&T Internet 100, AT&T Internet 300 and AT&T Internet 1000. The fiber buildout is also intended to support 5G wireless technologies.

Since early 2018, AT&T has added 4 million locations and plans to reach at least 14 million locations by mid-2019. The company also covers nearly 2.2 million U.S. business customer locations.
