Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ:CNSL) is building additional fiber network in Roseville, CA, with two new fiber builds.

The first fiber build, which is underway, is intended to bring fiber-to-the-unit for the Fiddyment Ranch apartment complex, in the Campus Oaks Development. When completed, the new apartment community will house 300 families in 18 buildings. Consolidated has completed the initial fiber infrastructure, with the final fiber-to-the-unit work to be coordinated with each building's construction. The project is scheduled to be complete in late 2019.

Additionally, Consolidated began laying the main fiber-line infrastructure in March to serve part of the Sierra Vista Specific Plan. The seven-phase plan area will offer more than 8,000 single and multi-family homes, approximately 260 acres of commercial space, and a network of parks and open spaces serving the community over the next 10 years.

Combined, the two projects are intended to provide high-speed Internet options - up to 1 Gbps - to nearly 30,000 Roseville residents over the next 10 years.

"Consolidated is investing in the future of Roseville," said Joseph Glenn, senior director of residential and small business sales. "These projects provide the technology backbone for how we live and work. We are committed to keeping communities connected and enhancing lives for years to come."
