Technetix announced an agreement with HPT Communications to distribute and support a variety of Technetix products within a 22-state footprint in the United States.

HPT will focus on sales, service and training of products such as Technetix' DBx access platform and Virtual Segmentation high-speed transmission system as well as many of the company's distribution products.

"The Technetix products that we will offer complement what we offer today," said Brent Viken, president, HPT Communications. "Consumers want more from the network. With the DBx and Virtual Segmentation solutions, HPT will be able to answer the demands for faster and higher capacity networks."

"We are investing in the Americas to provide innovative solutions and exceptional service," said Sandy Howe, EVP & president, Americas, for Technetix. "Our partnership with such a respected, gold-star organization like HPT allows our customers to have quicker access to additional skilled sales and technical resources."

The DBx Amplifier/Node platform is designed to provide a modular approach to enable a flexible configuration, allowing hybrid mixtures of RF and optics for gradual migration to deep fiber. Virtual Segmentation is intended to enable operators to overlay additional bandwidth on their existing coax infrastructure so a Remote PHY device (RPD) can be deployed without fiber.
