The MEF has announced its Call for Proposals for the sixth annual MEF 3.0 Proof of Concept (PoC) Showcase. The showcase is the core of the MEF19 global networking event scheduled for Nov. 18-22 in Los Angeles. This year's showcase will feature up to 20 live demonstrations by communications service providers and technology vendors.

"The MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase is the industry's opportunity to display leadership in current and future network services, value-added service features, and advanced networking technologies," said Nan Chen, president, MEF. "Each year we witness progressive innovations in this showcase, and we are eager to see what will be presented at MEF19 by the service providers, technology vendors, system integrators, and enterprises that are implementing MEF 3.0 concepts."

MEF19 is expected to draw more than 1,000 attendees from 270+ companies and 35+ countries.

Participants in the MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase will be eligible for the MEF 3.0 PoC Awards, which recognize PoC teams that excel in illustrating dynamic and assured services orchestrated across automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks. A panel of industry analysts will review the demonstrations and score them on innovation, quality, and alignment with MEF's work and MEF 3.0 vision.

"Many of the MEF 3.0 PoC demonstrations will highlight how service providers can implement different aspects of MEF 3.0 services, including concepts involving blockchain technology, analytics, and intent-based networking," said Pascal Menezes, CTO, MEF. "We expect to see demonstrations of MEF 3.0 services that are based on MEF's work in SD-WAN, inter-carrier automation, LSO interoperability with SDN and NFV, optical transport, carrier Ethernet, and IP."

Companies interested in participating in the MEF 3.0 PoC Showcase can submit their demonstration proposal at https://www.mef.net/2019_PoC_Submissions_Portal/. Detailed submissions should be received by May 10, and the submission process will be completely closed on July 12. Selected participants will be announced on July 29.
