Here are Broadband Technology Report's top 10 stories of 2018, as chosen by you, our readers. Besides being the most-viewed stories on our site this year, they also indicate what was most important and/or interesting to cable's tech community in 2018.

This year's top 10s were a mix of feature stories, news items and our perennially popular Diamond Technology Reviews. Network technologies focused on increasing broadband speeds dominated this year's list, particularly DOCSIS 3.1. Oddly enough, "Time for a Metric Calendar" (which was written in 2015 as a joke) made the list again this year. Clearly we need to think about writing more geek humor.

Honorable Mentions

These honorable mentions just barely missed the top 10, but all are important topics in their own right. They range from feature stories to news and products highlighted in our Diamond Technology Reviews program, as well as the video of our tech breakfast at Cable-Tec Expo on "Managing DOCSIS Disruption." WiFi dominates this year's honorable mentions.
