DVEO has won a 2018 Emmy Award for Technology and Engineering from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

NATAS' Technology & Engineering Achievement Committee awarded DVEO for "Pioneering Reliable Transmission Method for Live Contribution and Distribution TV Links" for the vendor's patented DOZER error correcting streaming transport protocol. DOZER is intended to enable video operators to improve their video distribution over IP networks including wireless and the Internet.

DOZER ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) is designed to deliver video and data packets with minimal packet loss and jitter. The DOZER ARQ protocol is an extension to UDP protocol. In some cases, it can eliminate the need for fixed or leased networks for live event contribution, studio-to-transmitter links, satellite backhaul, and point-to-multipoint satellite distribution, the company says.

"We are extremely proud to be honored with one of the world's most distinguished awards for original technology development," said Laszlo Zoltan, CEO of DVEO. "This achievement validates the foresight we had five years ago when we embarked on our push toward IP. Today DVEO has evolved to be a leader with end-to-end OTT and IPTV solutions. Without doubt these technologies will prevail as the primary delivery methodologies for watching television, movies, sports, news and just about everything going forward."
