Midco is upgrading its network in Lawrence, KS, in preparation for gigabit Internet service. Beginning March 6, Midco will start converting TV channels to an all-digital format. The move to all-digital video will take place in several phases and is expected to be complete by April 4.

Residential and business customers without digital cable TV equipment from Midco on their TVs will need HD digital adapters. Midco is offering up to three HD digital adapters free of monthly leasing charges for each account.

Midco bought the Lawrence system from WOW! (NYSE:WOW) last January and began offering TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) service there in September. Along with Lawrence, the system serves the surrounding communities of Basehor, Eudora, Lansing, Linwood, Piper and Tonganoxie. Prior to 2010, the Lawrence system operated as Sunflower Broadband, an independent, locally owned company founded in 1970.
