Huawei Technologies D-CCAP Solution

Sept. 26, 2017

Huawei's Distributed Converged Cable Access Platform (D-CCAP) converges hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) and PON architectures and supports distributed DOCSIS remote MACPHY (R-MACPHY) nodes.

The D-CCAP implements a digital reconstruction of the traditional cable modem termination system (CMTS) to eliminate the cost associated with maintaining the analog components of a traditional HFC network. By combining the best-of-breed access technologies including DOCSIS 3.1 with 10G-PON, the D-CCAP delivers 10-Gbps bandwidth capacity to coax-connected subscribers. Designed as an integral part of Huawei's distributed access platform, the D-CCAP is optimized to deliver a variety of IP services at the lowest cost-per-bit in the cable access space.
