ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) has announced its first DOCSIS 3.1 modems for operators and retailers.
At the NAB Show in Las Vegas this week, ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) announced two new satellite receiver solutions for satellite video distribution networks: the DSR-7412 Integrated Receiver/Transcoder and DSR-4470 Integrated Receiver/Decoder.
The new receivers feature HEVC UltraHD/4K decoding and DVB-S2X demodulation capabilities. The DSR-7412 is designed to deliver up to 12 channels of both MPEG-2/4 HD and SD transcoding to support legacy set-tops, while the DSR-4470 provides a dedicated decoding platform for compatibility with high-data rate satellite distribution networks.
"Our new compression solutions represent the continued evolution of ARRIS's leading, high-density platforms for satellite program delivery," said Dan Whalen, president, Network & Cloud and Global Services, ARRIS. "Both new satellite receivers deliver an unprecedented range of capabilities and technology in a single rack unit chassis, enabling service providers to maximize the processing density in the headend and meet the growing demand for 4K entertainment services."
