Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) says the Coda in Cherry Creek multiple dwelling unit (MDU) will be the first in Colorado to deliver gigabit Internet speeds to residents through Xfinity's Advanced Communities Network (ACN). A seven-year bulk agreement will provide gigabit speeds as an amenity service to residents at the new 182-unit property.
Xfinity Communities provides fiber-based network solutions to multifamily housing properties and developments. The Coda deployment includes high-speed Internet via fiber-to-the-unit, as well as Xfinity video, voice, WiFi, and the X1 platform. Xfinity WiFi will also be provided in common areas.
"This investment in network infrastructure at the Coda property is a notable differentiator for us in the Denver area," said Susan Maxwell, principal and COO, Zocalo Community Development, which manages the property. "Our building is registered for LEED Gold certification, making it one of the smarter and more sophisticated properties in the region. With Xfinity Communities enabling us to offer gigabit speeds to residents as an additional amenity included in their monthly rent, we are providing the infrastructure needed to support smart home and environmental technology, which are two very important priorities in Colorado."
