The American National Standards Institute has approve several SCTE standards relating to DOCSIS 3.1, including:

  • ANSI/SCTE 220-1 2016, "DOCSIS 3.1 Part 1: Physical Layer Specification"
  • ANSI/SCTE 220-2 2016, "DOCSIS 3.1 Part 2: MAC and Upper Layer Protocols Interface"
  • ANSI/SCTE 220-3 2016, "DOCSIS 3.1 Part 3: Cable Modem Operations Support System Interface-Specification"
  • ANSI/SCTE 220-4 2016, "DOCSIS 3.1 Part 4: CCAP Operations Support System Interface Specification"
  • ANSI/SCTE 220-5 2016, "DOCSIS 3.1 Part 5: Security Specification"

The standards are part of the DOCSIS family of specifications. In particular, this series of standards defines the fifth generation of high-speed data-over-cable systems. The standards were developed for the benefit of the cable industry, and include contributions by operators and vendors from North America, Europe, and other regions.
