EnerSys (NYSE:ENS) will feature its VaultFlex outdoor battery backup systems enclosures at the 2016 SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo in Philadelphia.
VaultFlex thermally managed enclosures are intended to be installed outdoors at data/communication sites, adjacent to shelters or central offices, in order to free up space for network equipment. They offer a selection of heating and cooling options designed to maintain the proper operating temperature for backup battery systems and provide protection from weather and other outdoor conditions. The enclosures also include passive ventilation to mitigate hydrogen gas, and are constructed to protect the battery backup system from earthquakes.
The modular enclosures are designed to support a range of battery chemistries, including EnerSys' PowerSafe SBS battery and PowerSafe V Front Terminal battery, both manufactured with proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology. Also supported are the company's PowerSafe DDmP125-33 batteries, including a cell design with thicker positive plates. PowerSafe batteries will also be featured at Expo.
