Teleste has reached an agreement with Huawei to deliver amplifiers for TDC Group's cable network upgrade in Denmark to DOCSIS 3.1. The upgrade is scheduled to begin in June and to be completed by the end of 2017.

The companies say the project will, when finished, be the first complete network upgrade to DOCSIS 3.1 standards in Europe. The upgrade is intended to let TDC Group deliver speeds of 1 Gbps on coaxial cable to 50% of Danish households.

In the last year, Teleste has deployed DOCSIS 3.1 technology with operators in Finland, Norway and the Netherlands. At ANGA COM earlier this month, Huawei introduced a 10 Gbps HFC access platform designed to support both DOCSIS 3.1 and PON.
