FOC Adds Splicer Cleaning Kit

Fiber Optic Center has added AFL's Splicer V-Groove Cleaning Kit to its website. The kit includes eight components for inspection and cleaning of any fusion fiber splicer.

Contamination in the v-groove of the splicer is a primary source of trouble for the splicing technician, especially with a fixed v-groove fusion splicer. Environmental contamination will offset the fibers and degrade splicing accuracy and subsequent fiber performance.

The kit includes:

• Scrubber brush and sweeper brush
• Eye loupe with 3X to 12X magnification
• LED pen Light with momentary or constant on switching
• Nonflammable, environmentally safe cleaning fluid and lint-free cotton swabs
• Instruction sheet with illustrations and canvas carrying case
