MediaMelon and NexStreaming (KOSDAQ:139670) have integrated MediaMelon's QBR technology into the NexPlayer SDK for mobile adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming video apps. MediaMelon QBR enabled NexStreaming players improve ABR adaptation by adjusting video bitrates based on video quality considerations, content analysis and buffer management.

MediaMelon QBR technology is available as a managed service for QBR-optimized real-time or VOD service delivery. QBR is designed to improve ABR technology by means of rapid scene analysis, content characterization, perceptual quality mapping and buffer management. The solutions are designed to integrate into the existing video workflow via SDKs implemented in encoders and video players. MediaMelon solutions are compatible with HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), MPEG-DASH, HTTP Smooth Streaming (HSS) and HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS).

NexStreaming's NexPlayer SDK is a mobile media player intended for mobile video apps offered by video service providers. The NexPlayer SDK supports PD/Local Playback, HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and Microsoft Smooth Streaming. It includes support for features such as closed captioning and time shifting and is designed to be integrated into any Android, iOS, Windows Phone or Android TV application.
