Cablevision (NYSE:CVC) has increased the speed of its core Optimum Online high-speed Internet service to 25 Mbps downstream. The speed boost, up from the previous downstream speed of 15 Mbps, is being provided to both new and existing residential and business customers at no incremental cost.

Cablevision also offers three Ultra speed tiers with downstream speeds of up to 50, 75, or 101 Mbps. Additionally, the MSO recently introduced 1 Gbps service in a multi-tenant building in New Jersey.

Two years ago, Cablevision increased speeds on all of its Optimum Online tiers, also free of charge.
