Kontron has introduced its SYMKLOUD modular video servers featuring processors from the Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) Xeon E3-1200 v4 family, designed to provide up to 20% more channel density for regional and global providers of cloud-based mobile and fixed video delivery services.

The integrated Intel Iris Pro graphics P6300 and Integrated Intel Quick Sync Video are intended to enable telecom, cable and digital TV broadcasters to provide more than 4,300 HD (1080p, 30 fps) simultaneous live or on-demand video streams in one rack using 20 SYMKLOUD platforms.

A single 2RU/21-inch deep SYMKLOUD is designed to support up to 180 HD 1080p, 30 fps streams, and is now expected to achieve up to 216 HD streams with the Intel E3-1200 v4 processor.
