CreatTV San Jose, a community access provider in San Jose, CA, will use Tightrope Media Systems' Cablecast online video distribution service to distribute select programming in high-definition. CreaTV produces four non-commercial PEG channels for community access and education that are carried locally by Comcast. Although the programming is broadcast in SD, the organization wants to be able to push the content to the Web in HD. Integrated with the main Cablecast VOD server, Cablecast Reflect will store a copy of videos in the cloud. Viewers can retrieve the file without using any of CreaTV's bandwidth. CreaTV will transition to Cablecast SX HD video servers and will add an HD router and reference monitor by the end of 2015.
