ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) has introduced a service provider WiFi solution for extending residential WiFi services to SMB, MDU and campus type environments. It integrates ARRIS CPE components with technologies from Aptilo, Benu and Ruckus Wireless (NYSE:RKUS), and is intended to allow operators to offer centrally managed, coordinated service offerings.

ARRIS's Service Provider WiFi Systems Design and Integration combines service components - authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA), policy enforcement, web portals, wireless access gateways, radio resource management, access point controllers, and access points - for delivering a unified customer experience regardless of device, location or transport technology.

The platform is designed to integrate into operators' delivery network and back-office systems as a result of ARRIS's integration with Aptilo Networks, Benu Networks and Ruckus Wireless. The combined platform leverages Aptilo's service management platform, Benu's wireless access gateway, and Ruckus Smart WiFi access points and control systems.

In other ARRIS news, the company announced a partnership with TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) to integrating TiVo software and cloud-based services with ARRIS set-top boxes. This integration represents an ongoing collaboration between ARRIS and TiVo to offer global service providers a variety of platform options for delivering multiscreen, TV Everywhere, and DVR experiences to subscribers. The first product of the collaboration is the DCX3635 Video Gateway with TiVo.
