Troy Cable has selected ADTRAN's (NASDAQ:ADTN) fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) portfolio for symmetrical Gigabit Internet service for residential customers in more than 20 communities across Alabama. The service is expected to be available to more than 40,000 households in southeast Alabama.
The deployment is part of ADTRAN's "Enabling Communities, Connecting Lives" program to showcases how technology - including gigabit broadband, Wi-Fi and cloud service offerings - can be used to support economic growth and local business development. The vendor has been involved in a number of gigabit deployments, including in the San Francisco Bay area, Oklahoma, Florida and others.
