At the NAB Show in Las Vegas, COGO will launch transcoding and encoding solutions for streaming high-bandwidth video, including 4K. The video compression technology underpinning the product line is designed for extremely low bitrates so that to 4K video can be delivered over existing H.264 networks. The company also plans to roll out a version of the codec to support the transition to H.265.

At NAB, COGO will be participating in the StudioXperience area to launch and live-demo its new products. Four product variants have been developed, each with a specific target user and a set of applications in mind.

  • COGO CLOUD is a cloud-based transcoding solution designed to deliver the best video quality at the lowest bitrate for online distribution. Bitrate and container type can be changed while allowing multiple resolutions from a single file.
  • COGO CODER is the desktop variant of the cloud-based solution for delivering H.264 compliant files. It's intended for video production personnel looking for a secure way to deliver large video files to intermediaries and end-clients.
  • COGO LIVE integrates COGO technology within an off-the-shelf hardware device form factor for live streaming over the Internet [http://www.broadbandtechreport.com/data/internet.html]. Field testing achieved bitrates for HD video as low as 3 Mbps and 4K bit rates of 10 Mbps.
  • COGO BROADCAST is intended for broadcasters. A Linux-based encoding platform is designed to distribute content to consumers through UDP to TCP, CBR to ABR and live to recorded content.
