VeEX has made several upgrades to its SunLite OTDR platform. The new SunLite OTDR-Plus features a combination of hardware improvements and software updates. Hardware updates include faster processor, larger onboard flash memory, provision for internal micro SD card, and optical measurement enhancements including stabilized light source capability on all OTDR laser outputs. Software features include
WiFi dongle support for uploading/downloading trace data and remote control. V-Scout, a software option for the new hardware provides auto link mapping of the
fiber under test. The option uses multiple pulse widths, multiple wavelength acquisitions and algorithms to generate a symbolic trace.
The company has also added a range of OTDR modules to its RXT modular multi-service platform. The RXT-4100 and 4112 OTDR series modules feature several optical test functions, including an OTDR for legacy fiber systems and a CWDM OTDR for CWDM networks respectively. Optional features include a power meter, a light source and a visual fault locator.
The RXT OTDR works in tandem with Fiberizer Cloud, an online repository for processing OTDR test data. Technicians can upload OTDR traces directly from the tester via wired or wireless connection, organize data in custom collections, compare traces with reference fibers, perform post analysis and generate PDF reports.
