As part of its "TWC Maxx" upgrade program in San Antonio, Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) has begun the rollout of faster Internet speeds there, with the first wave of customers in the area now having access to Internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps. All six of TWC's Internet packages will see increases as part of the Maxx launch, which also includes a switch to all-digital video and network reliability upgrades.
Starting this week, more than 75,000 customers in the San Antonio area will receive the faster Internet speeds as part of the first phase of the rollout. All TWC Internet customers in the area are expected to have the faster speeds by the end of July.
Areas in the first phase include:
- Balcones Heights
- China Grove
- Far North East side, including Thousand Oaks, Nacogdoches roads
- Huebner between I-10 and Bitters
- Kirby
- Pecan Valley
- Shavano Park
- Somerset
- South Side - west of I-35 between Highway 90 and Loop 410
- West Side, including areas around Woodlawn and Commerce streets
- Windcrest
