At the CableLabs Winter Conference in Orlando, FL, Intraway presented the new features and tools of its Advanced Network Monitoring solution. The product is intended to help cable operators prevent network performance issues in real time. New functions include a spectrum analyzer and pre-equalizer monitoring. The company also exhibited its Automatic Firmware Management, Customer Interaction Portal, Network Security Platform and Real-Time Universal Service Activator solutions.

The Advanced Network Monitor solution's spectrum analyzer feature is intended to allow both NOC operators and field technicians to have both past and real-time views of the upstream and downstream spectrum via CMTS and cable modem information from a single viewing point to compare and contrast historical maximums and minimums. A mobile portal is available for field technicians.

The pre-equalizer monitoring functionality uses DOCSIS devices as probes for monitoring the network. It's designed to scan and store the cable modems' functional values and also to combine the analysis of that information with network topology and device location to locate problem sources.
