Texas-based cable operator Grande Communications is expanding its Power 1000 1 Gbps Internet service to the West Campus area of Austin, TX. The expansion goes live today and is part of Grande's long-term plan to provide faster Internet service to all its customers. West Campus marks the third gigabit expansion this year, joining Buda and West Austin.
Using fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology, Power 1000 service is now available in West Campus, Buda and Austin including parts of Tarrytown, Old Enfield, Pemberton Heights, Bryker Woods, Belmont, Oakmont Heights, and Rosedale.
Grande launched its gigabit service in Austin in February, and the company is evaluating options to expand it further in 2015.
