In Orange County, CA, Cox Communications has begun doubling the speeds of its High Speed Internet Preferred and High Speed Internet Premier packages, which represent more than 80% of Cox's high-speed Internet customers in Orange County. Internet speeds also will be increased on Cox High Speed Internet Ultimate service package.

The Preferred package is doubling from 25 Mbps to 50 Mbps, and the Premier package is doubling from 50 Mbps to 100 Mbps. The Ultimate package is increasing from 100 Mbps to 150 Mbps. The upgrades are expected to be completed this week. The company recently completed similar upgrades in San Diego and Santa Barbara, CA, and also plans to offer gigabit speeds in all of its markets by the end of 2016.
