Grande Communications is expanding its 1 Gbps Internet service to all new and existing customers in the Austin, TX, suburb of Buda. Grande launched Gigabit service in Austin in February. Using fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology, Power 1000 service, priced at $64.99, is now available in Buda and Austin, including parts of Tarrytown, Old Enfield, Pemberton Heights, Bryker Woods, Belmont, Oakmont Heights, and Rosedale.
In other Grande news, the company announced the resignation of President Matt Murphy, who is leaving to found a new private equity firm. He has served as Grande's president for the past five years. Grande's Vice President of Retail Operations Matt Rohre will serve in the interim role of senior vice president of operations/general manager effective Oct. 1. Rohre will be responsible for oversight and management of Grande's operational performance and strategic direction.
