Roku is expanding its international presence with the introduction of the Roku Powered program. Aimed at pay TV service providers outside of the United States, Roku is now licensing the technology that powers its streaming video platform to enable providers to use the Internet to deliver customized entertainment.

The program is intended provide pay TV providers with access to low-cost hardware, software, a user interface, and streaming content, as well as ongoing software upgrades. Software customizations include pay TV operator branding, custom user interface themes, built-in promotional capabilities, and control of the streaming content available through the platform.
