Midcontinent Communications has introduced an Internet plan for low-income households for $9.95 a month. The plan, dubbed Broadband Lifeline Service, is intended to provide qualifying low-income households with broadband speeds of 12 Mbps downstream and 1.2 Mbps upstream, with no installation or modem rental fees. The service is available in most Midcontinent markets in the Dakotas, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
