Hong Kong-based UTStarcom (NASDAQ:UTSI) is opening a new office in Silicon Valley to support its sales and marketing efforts to U.S. telecommunications carriers and cable operators.
The company has moved staff and resources from its Fremont, CA, office to a larger office in San Jose. The new office will house an R&D and product testing lab as well as product demonstrations and displays, including packet optical transport gear, WiFi data offload, and SDN technology. In time, it will also include service and support teams dedicated to U.S. customers.
