Promptlink Communications has announced release of the Promptlink Set-Top Box Test Platform (STBTP). Similar to other Promptlink test solutions, the STBTP product performs a functional test of video and audio features of a digital set-top box. It's designed to help cable operators to manage field-returned inventory and determine functional and non-functional equipment.
The STBTP currently is designed to support testing of DVB-C and IP-based set-top boxes, and is designed to test 16 units per system in parallel. The system includes testing of audio and video interfaces at any resolution, including native HD 1080P. A "rolling rack" design allows for pre- and post-staging of equipment. It also features universal cabling connections. Future releases are planned to support DAC (Q3 2014) and DNCS (Q4 2014) video delivery systems.
