According to Ericsson's (NASDAQ:ERIC) Media Vision 2020, the TV industry will be worth $750 billion by 2020, up from $530 billion in 2013. The company projects that the global landscape will include 9 billion people, more than 8 billion mobile broadband subscriptions and 1.5 billion homes with digital TV, with analog almost history. More than 50 billion connected devices, of which 15 billion will be video-enabled, will rely on mobile IP networks dominated by video.

Other predictions include continued demand for bundled content and services, ubiquitous OTT video, and on-demand video achieving parity with live/linear.
