At CES in Las Vegas, Irdeto announced a new partnership with Envivio (NASDAQ:ENVI) to help operators streamline live channels over-the-top (OTT) across multiscreen platforms and devices.The companies' combined live linear OTT solution includes Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) PlayReady LiveTV content protection and is available on Windows, iOS and Android devices, gaming consoles and connected TVs. The joint solution will be first deployed with a European cable operator in early 2014.In other Envivio news, the company's 4K HEVC compression is being demonstrated by industry partners Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM), MStar Semiconductor and STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM). The chipset and semiconductor providers are featuring content encoded by Envivio in 4K (UltraHD) format, using the HEVC (H.265) video codec.
