The Intraway Flexible IP Version Selection (IFIVS) enables per-subscriber and per-device-type policies to be configured based on which should receive a private or public IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, or both. Thus, IPv6 can be enabled for select subscribers and devices in a network regardless of which CMTS, DSLAM, or base station they are associated with. When most subscribers are transitioned, the system can be programmed to enable IPv6 globally except for specific devices or subscribers whose equipment is not ready.
The IFIVS module, which received an honorable mention designation from the Diamonds judges, can integrate with any cable provider provisioning system and can migrate any cable modem or EMTA. It can be configured by the network administrator, who can implement system-wide settings, by a customer service representative on a per-subscriber basis, or by the BSS.www.intraway.comSee them at Cable-Tec Expo, Booth 1529Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
